Robert de Dardel: La phrase segmentée protoromane (suite et fin)
All Romance languages form segmented sentences of the type illustrated by French Paul, je le vois, literally >Paul, I him see<, and Je le vois, Paul, literally >I him see, Paul<, where Paul is at the same time object of the verb voir and theme of the sentence, referring to the preceding text or to the situation. This construction constitutes a problem for historical linguistics insofar as we do not know whether it originates in Proto-Romance or has been formed separately and independently in each of the Romance languages. According to the hypothesis presented in this paper, the segmented sentence at issue originates and can probably be accounted for in Proto-Romance.

Since several well known critics have recently declared that the golden age of literary theory has come to an end, this might be the moment to rethink a theoretical problem that attracted some interest in the academic world from the late 1970s to the early 1990s: the relationship between historiography and literary criticism. Although the histoire des mentalités has given the literary text an unprecedented status in the reconstruction of the collective imaginary and although the discussion of similarities between forms of narrative in historical and fictional texts has undoubtedly intensified the dialogue between historiography and literary criticism, some aspects have been overlooked in the debate of the last twenty to thirty years. First, for both types of texts, fictional as well as historiographic, the wide range of narrative and representational strategies has not been taken into account; second, more recent narratological methods of analysis have not been applied to historiographic texts; third, the interest for the narrative character of historiographic texts can be found almost exclusively among literary critics and philosophers and much less among historians; and fourth, the analysis of narrative structures inside and outside the limits of fictional writing has eclipsed the main characteristic of literary texts, their inherent potential to produce pleasure.

Grau-Lleveria, Elena: Narrative Strategies in the Construction of a New Historical Novel: Libertad en llamas by the Panamanian Author Gloria Guardia
Uno de los aspectos más sobresalientes de la nueva novela histórica es el papel protagónico que adquiere la voz narrativa en este tipo de textos. En este artículo se examina la estructuración que el narrador de esta novela de Gloria Guardia lleva a cabo. Para ello se analizan los siguientes aspectos: el manejo de distintos conceptos de temporalidad histórica, la diversidad de estructuras literarias narrativas relacionadas con la narración histórica ficticia, el uso de la documentación fotográfica y los imaginarios que se representan a través de dos personajes ficticios de la obra. El estudio de los elementos que componen el andamiaje que construye el narrador pone de manifiesto el sentido problemático que ha adquirido no sólo la historia sino la ficción histórica.
