Schürmann, Matthias: Pleonastische PropositionenWarum es sie gibt und was sie sind
For several decades, propositions – those contents of our thinking and speaking eligible for logical value – have been regarded by many philosophers as dubious entities. Stephen Schiffer's conception of pleonastic propositions aims to identify such scepticism as unfounded – for example by presenting a stupefyingly simple argument for their existence. The author vividly shows how the basic pleonastic ideas can be further developed and, with some modifications, defended against the objections that have previously been brought forward.
