Ästhetische Normativität in der Musik
Hrsg. von Tobias Janz und Jens Gerrit Papenburg
Even though material cultural studies recently show an increasing interest in questions of normativity, the topic as it is discussed there - in contrast to the project of "legal analysis as cultural research" - nevertheless competes with phenomena of diversity, singularity, or situativity, which currently receive much more attention as key topics of the present. Seeing that, against this background, aesthetics has an ambivalent, tense, or even paradoxical relationship to the normative, cultural studies are also challenged to address the topic in their respective subject areas. The volume picks up here and reflects the problem of aesthetic normativity in music fundamentally and exemplarily with contributions from music history, pop music research, music theory, ethnomusicology, music sociology and sound studies.
